Which one of the following does not list the sides of a right triangle?
A. 1, √3, 2
B. 2, 2, 2√2
C. √3, √4, √5
D. 3, 4, 5
E. 30, 40, 50

The correct answer is (C). Any triangle satisfying the Pythagorean Theorem will be a right triangle. The only one of these 5 choices that does NOT is √3, √4, √5. If we write (√3)² + (√4)² = (√5)², it becomes 3 + 4 = 5, which is NOT a true statement. The correct answer is C.

A is also a correct answer.
