To get the highest score
on the GMAT, you should spend about 40 hours studying. GMAT studying
should consist of taking at least ten sample GMAT tests and reading
at least one prep guide.
If you have been out of college for several years, you may need
more studying time to brush up on the algebra that you haven't
used in years.
If you are not a native English speaker (or even a poor English
speaker) the sentence correction will be especially troublesome
and it may take several months to prepare.
Some of this preparation will be helpful in activities outside
of taking the GMAT. We try to write our guide so that the skills
you need for the GMAT (such as persuasive writing) may be used
for everyday activities.
